Born in the Seattle, Washington area, Pastor Matt Chandler spent much of his childhood in various locations. This is due to the fact that his father was an active member of the military. Eventually, when Pastor Matt was an adolescent, he and his family put down roots in the Houston, Texas area. Although he attended churches throughout childhood, Pastor Matt indicates that he accepted Christ at age 17, the summer before he went to college.

Pastor Matt received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible from the Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. During his college years, Pastor Matt began active involvement in several ministries. He was a teacher in the Grace ministry, which was an interdenominational Bible group for students of the college. Additionally, he was part of the staff of the Beltway Baptist Church while he was still in college. In 2002, he began his career as the minister of the Village Church, then call the First Baptist Church of Highland Village.

Matt Chandler sermons concentrate on the non-denominational beliefs of mercy and grace through God’s word. He focuses on the belief in the holy trinity as one God in three persons. Additionally, he works as a guest speaker and contributor to many ministries, including BlueFish TV, the Gospel Coalition, and the Resurgence. Pastor Matt regularly produces sermon based webcasts that are both free and subscription based.

Pastor Matt resides in Dallas, Texas along with his wife Lauren. The couple are parents to three children. Although he is the pastor and full time resident of the area, Pastor Matt travels throughout the world offering faith based inspirational speaking and sermons to numerous churches and ministries.
