Born to a heritage of established pastors, John MacArthur attended both Bob Jones University and Los Angeles Pacific College. He then furthered his career by graduating with honors with a Masters of Divinity from the Biola University Talbot Theological Seminary. He began his professional career as the Associate Pastor of the Calvary Bible Church. Then, in 1969, Pastor MacArthur became the pastor of Grace Community Church, where he continues to pastor presently. Pastor MacArthur received an honorary doctorate from the Talbot Theological Seminary as well as one from the Grace Graduate School.
Pastor MacArthur is the host of the daily syndicated radio show called Grace to You. The show began to broadcast in 1977 and continues presently. In addition to his pastorship and radio hosting, MacArthur is the President of the Master’s College. He is also the founder of the Master’s Seminary at the Master’s College.
John MacArthur sermons make use of Biblical principles to bring peace to the mind and spirit. He regularly attends the convention of the Indepedent Fundamental Churches of America.
Pastor MacArthur also wrote many well-known books.
