Well, one of the best ways to bring back your joy and make things straight is to find a way to give to and help someone.
When God created us humans, He meant for us to have fellowship, both with Him and with one another. We were not meant to constantly occupy our thoughts with worry about our troubles. Often times, we feel the most miserable when we keep dwelling on our own problems. Yet, when we stop wallowing in self-pity and start to help and think of others, our problems suddenly seem smaller, and the solution appear to pop up out of no where.
This is because when we give - whether it is out time, money or effort, we allow God to work through us to bless others, and this in turn allows Him to bless us.
When we trust God, help others, and set aside our resources for God, not only do we honor God and bless those we helped, it also allows God to work with what we have given Him, and give them back to us many times more.
This is why when we extend our help to others, not only do we receive peace of heart and mind, we also have relief from our problems. And more often than not, very soon after that, our problems will seem insignificant, and seem to solve themselves miraculously.
Pastor Joel Osteen further explains that even when we think we have nothing to give, we in effect have just the thing that someone around us needs. It may simply be a smile, a helping hand, or a listening ear. These seemingly simple things may make all the difference in someone’s life.
So go ahead, listen to the "giving life style" message, and allow God to bless you and many others through you by developing a giving life style.
