John 14:12

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

The parting of a sea, the pillars of cloud and fire, the calming of storms, the healing of the sick etc.

All these are magnificent accounts of miraculous events in the Bible; all proof that the God we serve is a Supernatural God. Every act that proceeds from Him is miraculous – even though we sometimes do not notice it.

But what do all these have to do with us? How can these records of Christian Miracles be applied to our lives?

Well, it all depends on what you believe. There are many that claim that miracles have ceased in our generation, and that all we have left are historical accounts of what happened in the past, when God worked wonders in the lives of His chosen people.

If you take the time to look through the Word, we are sure you will find the Bible to be a book of miracles, from the very beginning, to the very end. From Genesis to Revelation, it’s a recording of one Supernatural event after the other.

Yet, many study it simply as a history of what God did with the children of Israel, and what God did when the apostles were alive. What we fail to understand is that it is a record of how Christian Miracles can happen in our own lives, and how God can miraculously work with His people even to this present time.

The fact that God created the earth is in itself a great miracle. The way He created the oceans and the seas, the heaven and the earth, and everything that inhibits them – including Adam and Eve, is in fact, a miracle.

Have you noticed the many lives around you that are transpiring miracles all day long? The rising of the Sun, the chirping of birds, the birth of new born babies, all of them are irrefutable evidence that miracles are still happening around us. Indeed, the very fact that you are able to read this sermon is a miracle in itself (do you know what precision it takes for your eyes and brain to receive and decipher the vast amount of information required for you to understand these words?).

Well, perhaps these kind of 'natural' miracles are not the kind of Christian miracles you need now? Perhaps you are looking for supernatural intervention in areas of your life that surpasses natural understanding?

But what we need to understand is that whatever kind of miracle you need, it is no different from the natural miracles we see around us all day long. The only difference is that we do not accept them as easily, and label them under “unexplainable”.

Perhaps you need a miraculous debt reversal? Well, have you considered the birds in the air? They neither sow nor reap, yet God takes care of all their needs. Why is your financial need any different? Are you not more precious than these fowls?

Or maybe you need a healing miracle? Then look at the lilies of the field, they are not only clothed with beautiful petals, but more importantly, a health that flows naturally from within. If God will so provide health and life to something that’s here today and gone tomorrow, will He not also provide you with the healing you need?

What we need to understand is that the Greatest of all Christian Miracles is Salvation. You must know that God loves you so much that He would have sent Jesus to die for you even if you were the only human on earth. And when Jesus died for you on the Cross, He purchased the right for your redemption, salvation, health, prosperity, and every other good gift. And if the devil is powerless to stop you from receiving salvation (the most important gift), do you think he really has to ability to stop you from receiving the lesser gifts of health and prosperity? All he can do is lie to you and deceive you into believing that he has that power, and that you are powerless.

The fact is, when Jesus died on the Cross, He stripped the devil of ALL his powers, and gave you His own Power and Authority, as well as the right to use His Name. Once you are in the family of God, all the powers of Heaven are working to bring about all the miracles you need into your life – whatever it is that you may need.

Now that all the Christian Miracles are laid up for you, all you need to do is to accept them humbly, and give thanks to our Benevolent and Ever-Loving God.
